Thinking of booking Monkey-Do for an event?
To begin with, please have a read through our information sheet, which can be found at the bottom of the page.
We’re able to offer various options to suit different requirements; however, for most net related activities, there should be a group of mature trees ~3-12m apart.
We'll provide the nets (& swings) and supervise play. We can also offer rain cover, educational lessons, and lots more….
If you're in the early stages of deciding whether to put on an event and looking for ideas, we're more than happy to chat.
We have decades of experience running events and can advise on what helps make an event success and how to mitigate risks, such as bad weather.
We're excited about what we do and being a non-profit we're first and foremost about sharing our knowledge freely with anyone that is looking to contribute to their community.
Finally, if you feel like you need some assistance to bring everything together it's even possible to hire us to help with managing the planning and production side; though, in most cases - beyond big events - this is rarely necessary.
Monkey-Do is not a commercial entity. As a not-for-profit organisation we only ask clients to cover the costs of carrying out work.
We work to commission and want our play installations at events to be free at the point of use as we believe every child should have the same opportunity to participate.
For a fairly basic event a reasonable distance from london we can come and rig in the morning with a view to completing the installation by midday.
We’ll then supervise play through the afternoon until 4 or 5pm, after which we’ll pack down to make it home by the end of the day.
For events of a longer duration, or that are bigger in scope, we can install nets on the day before, allowing an earlier start.
In such cases the area should be inaccessible to the general public overnight, which can be something to bare in mind in case the space needs to be sectioned off or stewarded during that time.
For a new client our process typically starts with a site visit by one of the team to ensure the location is suitable and to conduct a tree assessment from the ground.
We will identity appropriate trees from which to secure nets, branches that may need trimming, and deadwood in the canopy above.
We’ll also check to see if there are suitable areas from which to hang a rope swing!
[ add bit about cost and packages here ]
[& maybe include a bit about additional costs]
- additional staff (includes extra nets and other equipment)
- deadwood clearance if not handled by contracted arborists
- extended travel expenses
